Winter at Candlelight Lodge is a magical experience. Candlelight is built in the Tyrolean style and therefore brings that wonderful traditional atmosphere to an alpine skiing holiday. Refurbishments and extensions over the years have added to the guests' comfort without sacrificing any of the lodge's charm. Being one of the original guesthouses in the village, it is a part of the history of this unique area of Australia.

Check in and let us do the work for you. As you wake up in the mornings, you can look from your room out onto the slopes to see the conditions. Come down to a breakfast which can be as light or as hearty as you wish. Serve yourself at the continental buffet or let the staff know your order. Then sit back to enjoy the view from the restaurant's picture windows until your cooked breakfast arrives. It'll be one to suit even the maddest skier's or rider's appetite.

Then hit the slopes for the day. If you're not a skier or if only half a day on the slopes is enough for you, then Candlelight will suit you. Lie back for a while in your spacious room with a DVD. Maybe you'd like to relax with a book in the lounge area. Our central location allows easy access to the many great cafes and restaurants Thredbo has to offer.

If you're after some more exercise, there's always the Thredbo Leisure Centre with its 50m indoor pool, gym, classes, squash court, climbing wall and waterslide for the kids. After that you could always drop in to some of the boutiques and gift shops in the village square just a one minute walk from Candlelight.

The evenings are always a special time on a ski holiday. Freshen up in your room and then come down to the bar/lounge for a pre-dinner drink and to share tales of the day's adventures on Australia's longest slopes. Dinner will be served to you at your convenience. The service and meals in Candlelight's restaurant are always a source of delight for our long-term guests. Our proximity to the centre of the village is great for those who want to check out Thredbo's nightlife.

Kids are always welcome at Candlelight. Our lounge area is for all our guests and there is always someone to share a game of chess or backgammon. The younger guests may prefer a game of table tennis or table soccer or to use some of the toys and activity books available. If, however, you wish to enjoy a few peaceful schnapps in the bar, there are always X-boxes in the family rooms as well as DVD players to keep the kids entertained. We have a very wide range of DVD's and Xbox games available for you to borrow, but please feel free to bring your own from home.
